Nuakhai celebrations begin in Odisha | ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଓଡ଼ିଶାର ଗଣପର୍ବ ନୂଆଖାଇ

Celebrated a day after Ganesh Chaturthi every year, Nuakhai, the harvest festival is one of the most important annual festive event in Western Odisha, where it is celebrated with great pomp and joy. Also referred to as ‘Nuakhai Parab’ or ‘Nuakahi Bhetghat’ the festival’s literal translation sums up to new food where nua means new and khai means food.

ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଓଡିଶାର ଗଣପର୍ବ ତଥା ଏକ ପାରମ୍ପରିକ ପର୍ବ ନୂଆଖାଇ । ଏହି ପର୍ବ ଗଣେଶ ଚତୁର୍ଥୀର ପରଦିନ ପାଳିତ ହୋଇଥାଏ । ପଶ୍ଚିମ ଓଡିଶାବାସୀ ଏହି ପର୍ବକୁ ଖୁବ୍ ଆନନ୍ଦ ଉଲ୍ଲାସରେ ପାଳନ କରିଥାନ୍ତି । ଧାନ ଅମଳ ଖୁସିରେ ଚାଷୀମାନେ ଏହାକୁ ପାଳନ କରିଥାନ୍ତି । ପରମ୍ପରା ଅନୁସାରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ ଅଧିଷ୍ଟାତ୍ରୀ ଦେବୀ ମାଆ ସମଲେଇଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ନବାନ୍ନ ଲାଗି ହେଲା ପରେ ପରିବାରର ସମସ୍ତେ ଏକାଠି ବସି ନବାନ୍ନ ଖାଇଥାନ୍ତି ।
