Bhubaneswar passport office
Dear Editor Braja Kishore Sahu's "Hata Gunja: Akuha Katha" reminded me of our experience last year at the Bhubaneswar passport office. My daughter-in-law applied for renewal of her slightly damaged pasport under the "tatkal" scheme. She was made to run from Niladri Vihar to the passport office a dozen times until a dalal asked for 2500 rupees in kickback. Although her papers had been stalled under the excuse that the police reports were pending, the passport was ready in one day without any police report. The same passport officer who had delayed signing for a month signed without a single document.
