A question of Rs. 100
Dear Sir
Traffic Police at Bhubaneswar is imposing charges against non wearing of
helmets forcefully. Helmet is meant for the safety of riders. If they
wont obey it they will risk their own life but it is not at all
jsutified that the Traffic Polices will charge Rs. 100 againtst it.
Though it is a rule to wear helmet but to impose the rule there should
be some conditions. Is it justified that if a person is going few 100
mtrs frm house on his bike for an emergency without wearing helmet he
should be charged for the same ??? Are the Polices in BBSR performing
all their duties sincerely. As it is a question of Rs. 100 they are
charging each and everybody without knowing the actual cause or without
understanding their situation. Today moring at 11.00 AM I went on my
bike to have it washed at a garage which is barely 100 mtrs from my
house and so didnt took my helmet. But I was caught at Laxmisagar
Traffic infront of Durga Mandap by traffic police Kailash Ch. Nayak and
withouth hearing anything or undestanding my situation he charged me Rs.
100/- Is it not like imposing and collecting money from people
forcefully and harrasing them mentaly.

I think we should encourage diligent policemen of Orissa. There are so
very few of them.
