awesome visit to puri in 1977
In 1977 I visited Puri alongwith my wife. V stayed at
Puri hotel owned by a bengali lady.V enjoyed the vegetarian food and the
hotel maintenance was quite good. V had an opportunity to visit beaches
in India and Pakistan but Puri beach is exceptionally better. Also
visited Jagannath and Konark temple though it is prohibited for
muslims. Inside Jagannath temple we were shocked to see naked sexy
pictures curved on the walls. Why such things in a religious place came
to our mind but alas! Bhojan was prepared in a hall and distributed
among the pilgrims. V have never seen healthy monkeys in such a large
numbers before in any other temples in south India. The trip was very
interesting and will be remembered.
