SarvaSikha Abhyan
Today editorial on SarvaSikha Abhyan (SARVASIKHA ABHIJANA/MI:AJYANA)is
very special. It is showing a true image of our primary education
system. The main motto of sarvasikha abhiyan is "SAB PADHE, SAB LIKHE".
But this is not enough to make a healthy country from all respect. Only
know how to make signature is not a matter about developed country. So
my opinion is to the people in India to rethink the motto of this
abhiyan. Here I would like to mention an experienced talk with one
school teacher. 10 day back, I called M.E. School headmistress in
Balasore district, who is a close relative to me. During the talking
time, I marked she was in tense some extend. So I eagered to know what
is the matter to her. She told me there is a problem in her school.
There are many things to do but only two
female teachers in that school including her. Also 3 SIKHA SAHAYAK are
allotted to that school, out of which 2 are women. Among these two
women, one is in pregnant condition and other one does not want to come
because she does not appreciate with the amount. She is in leave without
pay. Then only one male teacher, who is a SS. He is thinking that he is
the headmaster of the school because all lady teacher are depending on
him. He uses to go block to get the material for Mdhyana Bhojana, and
everythings. I asked that headmistress, why she is allowing that person
to do so. She told me that he has good relation with CRC, BRC, block
supplier and everyone (associated with sarvasikha aviyan). So if he will
make complain to those authorities, she would be suspended because now a
day primary education motto is to maintain properly the MADHYANA
BHIOJANA and some money for development. There is no scope for primary
study. If you maintain those things, you are become a very good head
master. I told her why she did not complain the problem arising with the
sarvasikha. She told it is become a business of some people, so she does
not want to become enemy of those people. If she would do so, she will
be getting the suspension letter in the very next day. How disgusting
these things are. After reading today article in Dharitri, I recalled
that telephone conversion. Like this there are many things are happening
with SRVASIKHA AVIJAN. Now a day, SRVASIKHA give a large amount of money
(around 30 lakhs) to build schoo l building in the flood and cyclone
affected area. The rules are like this that the money should be expensed
by combinely headmaster and village committee. Hence there is a very
good source of money for head master and village committee members. Also
villagers do not want to complain about the misuse of government money
because they do not have any faith on the rule and regulation as well as
the rulers and officers. With these types of problem, villagers keep
distance themselves from these complications. With these types of
dramas, the primary education system became in valley.
