Mess up in SCB Hostel affairs

Sir,

With due respect , Being a responsible citizen and guardian I have to draw your kind attention about some facts of the ragging procedure that is going on at SCB Medical College ,Cuttack ,Orissa these days. That , the boys students of 1st year are not allowed to stay in their respective hostels though they have taken admission in hostel. The authorities have not allotted the room number to the 1st year boarder in an official manner. It is done by the senior students (5th year students called the Welcome batch). They allot the seat as per their mercy. The 1st year students are staying outside the campus in rent. Some senior students are also staying non- officially in the hostel. The same scenario is in the Ladies Hostel of that college. Near about 30 students are staying in the dormitory in a precarious situation and
some are staying in partition rooms. Senior students are entering to these rooms regularly after 10pm and creating all types of disturbance. They have ordered the 1st year students to have bath before 5am. The 5th year students in Ladies hostel are the authority to allot seats to the new comers. An ENT Professor is the Warden. But she hardly comes to the hostel to check. After completion of the class hour everyday the 1st year MBBS students have ordered to repot from 500pm to 6.30 pm everyday in a college room and ragged by the seniors mentally and physically. Practically the 1st year MBBS students are shocked by observing such situations. They have ordered not to disclose these things anywhere or to anybody. They are not getting room as well as time for self study. The teachers are co operating the ragging procedure. The students have fear in their mind and not getting the appropriate authority to complain. Hence, I pray you to investigate the matter and do things deemed fit for smooth study of my ward. Otherwise a furious situation will arise. I am not giving my details as my ward is there in 1st year. But time to time I will give you the information. Save all the students from RAGGING.
