With great joy and pleasure, I would like to inform you that on the holy day of Bahuda Jatra, July 13, Lord Jagannath, Lord Balabhadra and Devi Subhadra made the Hindu Temple at Kansas City, USA their abode. The Murti Sthapana rituals were conducted by the priests of the temple over three days from July 11 through July 13 amidst chanting of Vedic mantras and in the presence of 500 bhaktas from all communities. The three deities along with Sudarshana rose to the Ratna Bedi at 11:45 AM on July 13. There was an enlightening discourse about the social significance of Jagannath Dharma by Swami Samarpanananda from the Hariharananda Kriya Yoga Center at Balighai, Puri followed by Mahaprasad distribution to all the devotees. It was a historic day for the Hindu community and especially for the Oriyas in and around the Mid-West of USA. Prominent among the volunteers who took the initiative and follwed it through to bring the Lord to Kansas City are Sri Ramaballav Mohapatra, Smt. Kalpana Dash, Sri Prakash Patro and Smt.
