Do not agree with your editorial

Dear Sir,

i read your editorial of June 16, but would like to disagree with you on the stand you have taken. i have no problem if you want to criticize some "insane minds" sitting in the secretariat doing nothing for the development of orissa/ odisha. but the path you have chosen for that matter is not right, from my point of view. I strongly do feel that it matters for us that somebody from outside does not call our names in a wrong way. Being out of our motherland, we can feel what significance the name holds for us. when somebody asks whether we are from Orissa? we can't say him no its not Orissa, its Odisha. Because it has been mentioned like that. And, this change from Orissa to Odisha is a commendable step as it is the recognition of self-identity of our motherland. Won't you or for that matter your family members feel bad if somebody mispronounce your name? you certainly will and you should also. Because this means the ignorance and negligence of your identity. So many things to write but i am skeptical that my interest and enthusiasm to write this will go in vain. Thank
You.........

Dear Mr Mohanty

Each to his own, or her own. I am not so sure whether we really pronounce the name of our state with a prominent 'd' sound. However, in a free country you have a point to stand up for. Like many people in the western part of our state don't even accept they speak Oriya. They insist they are speaking Sambalpuri (some even say Koshali). I guess that too is fine by all the "Odias".
